3 Simple Summer Clutter Solutions

Solution #1

Hang an over the door shoe organizer near the door you use most often. Fill the pockets with summer essentials like sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen. Use this as the one place to stash seasonal items.

Solution #2

Pack a summer tote that you can grab and go:

Beach towel(s)
Plastic tablecloth or shower liner (to sit on a damp or muddy ground)
Sunscreen and lip balm (sunscreen has a shelf life of about 6 months)
Baby wipes or hand sanitizers
Microfiber cloth or rags
Mini first aid kit (anti-itch spray, bandages, antibiotic ointment)
Water bottle and snacks
Camera (stay tuned: in a future issue we’ll talk about organizing photos)
Small bag with spending money
Hat & sunglasses
Baby powder and soft-bristle paintbrush (removes sand or dried mud easily)
Hair ties
Long sleeve shirt
Bag for treasures
Garbage/recycling bag (not every place has a trash nearby)
Taking Fido or in my case Holly? Grab water bowl & leash

And so that you have time to actually USE the tote mark off time on your calendar right now, at least two times per month for the whole summer. Sure you might not know exactly what you’ll do (or maybe you do) but the time will be dedicated so you have no excuses…

Solution #3

Line the trunk of your car with an old shower curtain liner or picnic tablecloth. This will keep the carpet clean when you have plants from the garden store, muddy shoes or sandy bags.
